NAC (Neighborhood Advisory Committee)

The City of Philadelphia through its Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) administers the Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC) Program, which is designed to give community residents the opportunity to provide input on housing, community, commercial and economic development programs and related citizen participation.

As the representative organization for our Olney/Logan based Service Area, GPASS-NAC strives to serve our community both by building residents’ capacity to access residential and social services and by engaging residents in activities and initiatives that promote community revitalization.

We welcome those in need of services to visit the office and speak to Sloane Folks, our NAC Coordinator. Mr. Folks meets with residents to assess their personal situation so that she can inform them about the City services that may be available to address their specific needs and refer them to appropriate service providers. Often the necessary services are among those that GPASS provides, in which case Ms. Manning can direct the resident to the relevant GPASS department.

At GPASS-NAC, we also conduct community activities and initiatives that are directly informed by the input of community members. The Neighborhood Advisory Subcommittee (NAS), a group of ten community members who are residents of our Service Area, represents the overall interests of the community and plays a vital role in the direction and implementation of GPASS-NAC activities. To date, activities have included events such as neighborhood cleanups and community meetings. In the near future, we expect to introduce additional community building activities as well as long-term initiatives geared toward broad-based, sustainable community development.

We invite everyone to follow GPASS-NAC’s progress and share their ideas by attending our bimonthly community meetings.
