The mission statement is the Greater Philadelphia Asian Social Service Center (GPASS) is to create a community diversified area for the Community.
GPASS was founded in 1993 for the purpose of advocating equal rights, goods and services for an under-served, multi-cultural population. To that end, we began to provide information, referrals and direct services to those in need. The Logan/Olney, North Kensington, Germantown, Lawndale and Hunting Park areas have many first and second generation immigrants experiencing difficulties adjusting to American culture and society, and GPASS has been helping these communities cope with these problems since its inception. GPASS has been providing counselors who speak English, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Cambodian and Spanish for clients who are at a disadvantage due to language barriers and cultural differences since it began and continues to do so.
