GPASS EEA (Emergency Energy Assistance) Unit is a one stop shop, which serves the Philadelphia Region. We are located in the Olney/Logan section of the city. This area has a population of 150,000, which GPASS EEA Unit serviced 70 % of households with a single mother as head of household. This past heating season EEA Unit serviced to date 4,547 households which equals to 67.2 %. The EEA Unit has bi lingual staff ready to assist in providing energy assistance along with budget/ energy counseling, EWAP (Energy Weatherization Assistance Program) for auditing/insulation and the Water Conservation Program, CAP (Conservation Assistance Program) that involves repair and/or restore minor plumbing issues of eligible households. 
Our EEA unit role in the community is not only to offer the community with financial assistance via federal funded programs such as LIHEAP(Low Income Heating Assistance Program) for home heating utility, and Crisis, a component of LIHEAP, assist households in danger of meeting the basic life’s necessities of utilities (gas, electric, water, oil and broken furnaces). In addition we also assist consumers via privately administered funds such as UESF (Utility Emergency Services Fund), Grandom and Sunoco Oil Programs.
GPASS EEA unit also encourage and engage in community building efforts. The EEA Unit has serviced the community under our Food Bank for 15 + years via; the state funded Share Food Program. Ending hunger depends on the volunteer work of GPASS and literally millions of Americans. Food is fuel for life and hunger is experience in every community. Volunteers are welcomed.
EEA unit operates Monday- Friday year round, our hours 9:30 am – 3: 30 p.m. Some programs may have hours that vary please contact our EEA Unit @ 215-456-0308/ 215-329-8090 for further information.
